Here’s one definition.

“Dramatic irony is a relationship of contrast between a character’s limited understanding of his or her situation in some particular moment of the unfolding action and what the audience, at the same instant, understands the character’s situation actually to be.”

Here’s mine. 

Less than one day after posting about accepting writing rejection (see below), my spec TV Pilot made Amazon Studio’s Consider List.

What does this achievment mean? 

Well, they haven’t bought it or optioned it, so you’re still buying me lunch.  

But it does provide the series recognition and attention.  Out of the 500+ public submisions – and a few more private ones – Subbin’ (cowritten with friend Dan Franko) was one of fourteen projects added to the Development and Consider slates.  Amazon Studios is not ready to commit to our show just yet and want to see how the community responds. 

So pop on by the Amazon site, and take a gander at the script and accompanying mini-bible to decide for yourself.  All feedback is welcome.

However it turns out – the community doesn’t respond or Amazon chooses other projects down the road and pushes ours aside – or, thinking positively, they decide to pick it up for development – it’s progress.

In the meantime…

Work on my webseries picks back up July 14/15, when we film our last three episodes.  I’ve started my New Girl spec, have a couple more spec TV pilots in various stages, and begin at least one feature script starting in September.
